Another Kind of Strength: LA FORZA DEI GESTI (THE STRENGTH OF GESTURES)
Visit of the exhibition and of the GAM collection + activity – duration 90’
Our bodies belong to us. This statement seems obvious but in fact it is not, because the models and standards that society imposes on us inevitably condition the way we see and use our bodies. During the visit we will observe the language of bodies in the works of Andrea Bowers as well as in some masterpieces to be found in the GAM, in the attempt to interpret their message: openness, closure, courage, strength, delicacy, submission, dedication, struggle…
At the end of the itinerary, we will try to move our bodies freely in space, using the postures, gestures and movements we know or have come across during the visit, creating a kind of dance-dialogue made up of nonverbal messages.

Visit of the exhibition and of the GAM collection + creative workshop – duration 90’
Words in Andrea Bowers’s works are very important: they have a force related to their meaning but also to the way they are arranged, along with colors, sizes, and shapes.If GAM’s paintings and sculptures could speak, what would they say? We will be the ones to interpret them and give them a voice. At the end of the visit, with all the words collected from among the works or with others that come to mind, we will try to come up with our own slogan, a message to be transcribed on a ribbon, inspired by those of Andrea Bowers.
