Cookies are stored through the browser (internet browser), based on the user’s preferences.
Similar technologies as, by way of example, web beacons, transparent GIFs and all kinds of local storage introduced through HTML5, may be used to collect information on user behaviour and on use of services.
Later in this document we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies, by way of mere use of the word “cookie”.
Categories of cookies
Based on characteristics and use of cookies we may identify several categories:
‘Technical’ cookies strictly necessary. They are cookies essential for proper operation of the Website. In addition to those cookies, Fondazione uses a cookie to store the language in which user prefers to visit the Website. Disabling technical cookies could impair use of the Website.
Analytic cookies and performance. These cookies are used to collect and monitor traffic and use of a website in anonymous way. These cookies, without identifying the user, allow, by way of example, to assess whether the same user connects again in different times. In addition they allow to monitor the system and improve its performance and way of use. Fondazione does not use this kind of cookies.
Profiling cookies. They are permanent cookies used to identify (whether in anonymous way or not) user preferences and improve its browsing experience. Fondazione does not use this kind of cookie.
Third party cookies
Through visit to a website you may receive cookies both from the visited website (“proprietary”), and from websites managed by other entities (“third party”). Third party cookies on the Website of Fondazione derive from some Google tools (YouTube and GoogleMaps), Vimeo and Slideshare. They are parts of the visited page, generated directly from the abovementioned sites and integrated in the page of the host website.
These plug-ins entail transmission of cookies from and to all the websites managed by these “third parties”, but measures reducing their identication power are adopted and third parties do not cross-reference collected information with further data they own.
Management of information collected by “third parties” is governed by relevant policies to which we ask you to refer. These privacy policies may be different from the one adopted by Fondazione, which therefore does not account for third parties’ websites. For convenience and for the sake of further transparency, here below you can find web addresses of the pages containing information on the methods of management of “third party” cookies:

Term of cookies
Technical session cookies operate only until the browser is closed.
Other cookies “survive” after browser is closed and are available also in other subsequent visits by the user. These cookies are known as persistent and their term is set by the server when they are created. In some cases a term is set, in other cases they remain until the user does not erase browsing data stored by its browser. Fondazione uses persistent cookies that last one year to store preferences with regard to the language.
Management of cookies
User may decide whether to accept cookies, using personal browser settings. Warning: total or partial disabling of technical cookies may impair use of features of the Website.
Disabling “third party” cookies does not impair browsing in any way.
